Even winter tomatoes. Although they are not as good as a just picked home or locally grown beef steak or heirloom tomato they are still better than nothing. I can’t go 9 months of the year without tomatoes. I find if I buy field tomatoes and leave them on the counter to ripen for a few days they really aren’t half bad.
I toasted a couple of my bagels for our lunch today and topped them with Canadian Back Bacon and thin sliced tomatoes.
