Peppercorn Steak

I love, love, love pepper.   (I carry a pepper grinder in my purse) So this way of preparing steak is one of my favourites. Lots of coarsely cracked or ground black pepper and a sauce  made with green peppercorns. It is actually a very easy dinner to put together.   It took longer to cook…

Bread and Pasta

I haven’t baked bread all summer.   So Monday morning I mixed up a Biga.  Monday night before bed, I kneaded up a double batch of bread dough.   It was late so the dough went  directly into  the fridge.  Tuesday morning, I knocked it down and then left it for about  4 hours so that…

Prime Rib Dinner

As mentioned in the previous post, this little Prime Rib was presalted on Wednesday and then on Thursday, seasoned with lots of fresh garlic, mixed peppercorns, fresh rosemary and drizzled with olive oil. It was cooked on the grill over indirect heat.   Just big enough for two thick slices. Served with little baked potatoes and  a…

Celebrating our Thirty Second Wedding Anniversary

We started the evening with Mumm Champagne.   This is the wine that we served at our wedding 32 years ago and we have continued the tradition. Indian Curry Dinner

I love Indian curry. So does Moe.  But when I want a curry dinner I want more than one dish. Yesterday was a work day for me so no time to make three or four dishes. But time to make a couple. I put the chicken curry on to cook in the morning so that…
