I left early on Saturday morning so I could drive into Duncan to visit the farmers market before going to work.
I was so thrilled to find a new vendor selling a variety of peppers.
So many to choose from. But what really got me excited was when I saw the Pimientos de padron. These little Spanish peppers are difficult to come by around here.
In fact, only once before was I able to find these peppers. The Padron peppers are soooooo goood. Just quickly sauteed in olive oil and then sprinkled with sea salt and served immediately.
Often served as a Tapa.
Another vendor new to me was Grant, owner of the Ravenstone Sheep Farm from Qualicum Beach. He was selling meat from his farm as well as a variety of homemade sausages, links or coils/rings.
Next week I’ll choose another variety or two to try, but this week I went with his Italian Parmesan Sausage. It was a great choice.
I bought a coil of sausage and grilled it for dinner.
Since I was also serving the Padron Peppers I probably should have went with the chorizo sausage.
Our dinner was a real international mix with the Spanish Peppers, Italian Sausage and…
Roasted Greek potatoes.
Not terribly attractive on the plate, but we both really enjoyed this dinner.

Oh my, that looks fabulous Ann! My mouth is watering. You've given me inspiration ~ we have a local butcher who makes wonderful sausage and sells them both in both links and coils . . . and I have some Italian peppers begging to be picked in the garden. Who can resist the Greek Roasted Potatoes?I'll bet you can guess what will be making an appearance on the dinner table this coming week!
GMTA Ann…I was going to go to my butcher this afternoon and get some sausage…I love the coiled Italian sausage we get…It does not have any fennel in it and includes some cheese…we love it with sauteed broccoli rabe…Your dinner looks fabulous as always! I love the International mix!
That looks DELICIOUS! Sweet Italian Sausage is one of my favorite things to eat. I couldn't see the potatoes though, the last photo, it didn't come out for me. If they are on the left in the second picture, they look yummy!Best,Gloria

Yes, I often come up with some strange combinations for dinner…but if all components are delicious, it really doesn't matter! Lovely dinner~
