Moussaka

I had a craving for Moussaka.
The version I make is layered with both potatoes and eggplant.
While the meat simmered, I fried the potatoes and the eggplant.
A layer of potatoes and eggplant in the bottom of the casserole
topped with meat and then another layer of potato and eggplant and
more meat  and then finished with a layer of Bechamel Sauce.
Just out of the oven.
Served with a Greek Salad.

  3. Moussaka is one of my favorite dishes. I've never made it with both potatoes and eggplant. Our grocery store hardly every has ground lamb. Maybe I need to request it.I can't see your recipe because I'm at work in my laptop, and can't print it out. I missed seeing it here in your post. Thanks for sharing this delicious looking recipe.I did buy some lamb for stew yesterday and plan to make a Moroccan lentil dish with it in the crockpot.Have a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady

  4. Lorraine, you can make Moussaka with beef or I actually like it made with a combination of pork and beef. I'm at work too. I'll add the recipe when I get home.~Ann
