I stopped at the grocery store on the way home from work looking for inspiration. I hadn’t eaten lunch, and I was hungry so it had to be something that was also quick and simple.
What could be easier than grilled sausage on a bun.
Topped with fried onions and peppers
with fried potatoes on the side.
The sausage was fresh chorizo. Not what I would call a typical or traditional Chorizo. This sausage is made by the local Vancouver Island company – Hertel Meats. Although not a traditional Chorizo I really like this sausage and often buy it when it is available and serve it for breakfast. I love the flavour, it is spicy but not overly so.
The German in me loves a grilled sausage on a bun and the onions and peppers are a delicious change from our usual sauerkraut. You've got my mouth watering over this post, Ann.
Ann, you just solved my dilemma as to what to make for tonight's evening meal. This looks delish & I have everything but the buns on hand. Adding those to my grocery list & I'm out the door. Thank you for showing us these tempting photos!!!

Well, this Italian has always loved her sausage and pepper subs! And pepper and egg subs, and sausage parmesan subs, and…..do we see a pattern here? Your pictures always make me drool!xoxo Pattie

Hello Ann, I'm a fellow Canuck (south central BC) who now lives in Kansas. I've been following you for a while but don't think I've commented so I figured it was about time I did. You take the most gorgeous photo's! You make all your food look good…but of course it tastes delicious too! These grilled sausages look delicious and the next time we go to get groceries I'm picking up what ever sausage I can get that's similar to yours. Thanks for sharing this with us! Take care…Maura 🙂
