Halibut Fish and Chips

What is so nice about having a selection of fish in the freezer from Walcan Seafood, especially Halibut, is

being able to make Halibut fish and chips.

A meal that Moe and I both love.

I can make halibut fish and chips whenever I feel like it.

I make a tempura style beer batter for a light crispy coating.

Tempura Style Beer Batter

I’m usually only cooking two to four pieces of fish so this is more than enough batter.

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
salt
pepper
beer or soda water.

Mix dry ingredients.
Add enough beer to make a thin batter.

Dip fish in flour and then into the batter. Let the excess batter
drip off and then float the fish in 360°F oil. I use canola oil.

  1. I love that you can easily whip up halibut fish and chips whenever desired.

  2. Thanks Vanessa. Moe is really happy that I can do that too. We have a couple of Fish and Chip places
in the area for Halibut and chips, but he loves my homemade better.
