Steaks on the Grill

It has finally warmed up here on the west coast of Canada. We have had a couple of days in a row in the high 70’s low 80’s and according to the experts this warm streak is going to continue. I love summer. We might even get our tomatoes into the ground tomorrow.

We had dinner with our neighbour Clif tonight. I grilled the beef tenderloin steaks and Clif baked the potatoes and cooked the corn on the cob. First thing I did when I got home from work was to put some white white, shallots and tarragon on to simmer. The reduced mixture was blended into a half cup of butter to become a Bearnaise Butter for the steaks.

Ann, you're my new hero. I've always loved Bearnaise sauce but never was enthusiastic about making it. Your butter idea is perfect. Plus I could probably make extra & freeze it for future steaks.
