Along with the Danish I baked four loaves of French bread. I try to bake bread on at least one of my days off. It freezes well and is so much better than what I can buy. Bread is basically pretty cheap to make, but to buy a decent loaf of artisan bread is anywhere from $4.00 to $5.00 a loaf.
I love a good crust and my favourite sound is when it “talks”, That wonderful crackling sound you hear when it comes out of the oven.

Gorgeous! I can hear the crust crack as I slice off slabs to slather it in buttah!!
Wow do those look like Provence to me w/ the wicker and the check:) So pretty Ann..You bake the most beautiful breads..
That\’s such a great photo of all those loaves in the basket. I love homemade bread – I can almost \’taste\’ yours through the screen!
Those loaves look so perfect!only 4-5$ for artisan bread? there\’s a place here in vic that charges 8$ though I must say it\’s almost worth it
