A few of my favourite meals this month.
Sourdough bagels.

I made two different sizes.

The smallest are “cocktail” size

served with cream cheese and smoked salmon .
Topped with poppy seeds.

And the larger size were topped with poppy seeds, sesame seeds and fried onions.
Matt fried the onions because this is his favourite bagel.
One recent night we shared a beautiful big Sterling Silver Porterhouse steak.

Just off the grill.

Separating the strip from the tenderloin.

Carved.

Grilled and serve as Steak and Frites with a red wine sauce.
Escargot in mushroom caps.

Served with slices of baguette to sop up the garlic butter.
Had intended to make this soup for dinner one night and didn’t so I made it in the morning.

Moe loves potato leek soup any time of day, including breakfast.
Served with toasted baguette.

And the next morning he had it for breakfast again

with freshly baked slices of still warm baguette.
I made a pot roast and we ended up just having sandwiches with it for dinner.

So this morning I used some of the leftover pot roast and gravy to make Moe

a bastardized version of a Shepherds Pie for breakfast.
I asked Moe if he could have anything for dinner, what would it be.
His answer?

Rack of Lamb.

Luckily I was able to find a beautiful fresh rack of lamb on short notice.
I rubbed it with lots of fresh garlic, rosemary and black pepper and a little olive oil.
Cooked on the grill.

Grilled Rack of Lamb with homemade mint sauce (Moe’s favourite), Parisienne Potatoes, cauliflower and carrots (for Moe).
